2013 Diesel Vehicle Dynamometer Smoke Emission and Diesel Oil Quality Monitoring and Testing Plan

In order to reduce the impact on the air quality and on the public by the smoke emissions from diesel vehicles with in the county, Environmental Protection Bureau, Yunlin County, continue implementing ‘Year 2013 Diesel Vehicle Smoke Emission Test and Diesel Oil Quality Monitoring Plan’ and executing smoke emission test and oil quality control on diesel vehicles to protect and maintain the air quality in the County. ‘Year 2013 Diesel Vehicle Smoke Emission Test and Diesel Oil Quality Monitoring Plan’ – The duration of the plan is from 1st March 2013 to 28th February 2014; for one year. The work objectives, stipulated in the main contract, have all met target numbers in the mid-term work evaluation report. This plan completed the notifications of ‘judgment by visual determination’ to 1008 vehicles; testing under full load at inspection station to 2804 vehicles; roadside spot inspection and station inspection to 508 vehicles – as inspection methods to check and test on the vehicles with high risk of pollution. Tests which are in addition to the aforementioned and carried out in parallel are diesel oil quality monitoring on diesel vehicle – 50 cases; diesel oil quality monitoring at petrol station – 30 cases; patrol and investigation on illegal oil trade – 24 times to prevent vehicles which produce air-pollutant emission and use of illegal oil.
