Besides, accumulated from January 1st till March 31st in 2015, there were 411.86 tons burned, mitigated 4,110 kg TSP and 260,767 kg CO. On the other hand, there were 2,532 people take part in the “Joss Paper Reduction” by donating money in 2014, contributed approximately NT$ 992,114 and mitigated 32,740 kg CO2. By March 31st ,2015, a total number of donating money has come to NT$265,428, mitigated 8,759 kg CO2. With respect to another “Rice-replace-joss paper” policy, we have mitigated 7,953.5 kg CO2 with the cooperation of 53 temples. Besides, intending to maintain good air quality, a team of Chia Nan University were asked to do an incense research and suggested that we should choose the high quality ones with less pollution emission. Furthermore, we have visited 1,453 temples to propagate the concept of joss paper reduction. Also, we calculated the average amount of joss paper and incense burned per year through these personal visits, intending to maintain good air quality.
