Exposure Assessment and Source Apportionment of PM2.5 in Central Taiwan Air Basin

Absrtact
Thirty-three micro-environmental sites were selected to collect overall 66 PM2.5 samples during two seasons in Nantou County with 4 batch samples in one continuous site for time-adjust use in the study. After time-adjusted, the two seasonal averaged value of PM2.5, PM2.5 absorbance, SO2 and NOx are 32.37 μg/m3, 1.23×10-5 m2/m3, 9.82 ppb and 16.60 ppb, respectively. Results show that PM2.5 mass concentration and absorbance had the similar spatial trend. Two independent systems of air pollution could be found, one is at the Puli Township, and the other one in west-side townships, where ranged north from Caotun Township and south to Jhushan Township, in Nantou County. There were higher concentrations of SO2 concentrations in central Nantou area where ranged west from Mingjian Township and east to Yuchih Township. However, for higher NOx concentrations were distributed the north-side townships where ranged west from Nantou City and east to Puli Township.
