Yunlin County 2017 Project of construction pollution control and inspection

The chief task of the project was to assist Environmental Protection Bureau to levy air pollution fees for construction, fortify pollution control for construction engineering, and file and manage the data of construction sites that were put under surveillance and control. Additionally, it organized information meetings regarding laws and decrees to strengthen proprietors’ and contractors’ cognition of pollution prevention in order to achieve the objective of reducing pollution. During the project execution period, investigation and control for construction sites and road adoption were executed, and a total of 804.51 tons of PM10 and 164.90 tons of PM2.5 were reduced with 76.8% of surveillance rate. A total of 3,928 levy cases of air pollution fees were declared, with a total of NT$52,883,174. Besides, 5,506 construction sites were put under surveillance and control and 7,652 times of patrol and investigation for construction sites were conducted. In addition to regular patrol and investigation and the completion of filing the data of construction sites, 3 information meetings for laws and decrees for construction sites and 8 propaganda activities for the public were organized. With respect to road cleaning and maintenance, 47,655.54 kilometers of adopted roads were cleaned and swept, and emergency response cleaning and sweeping was executed for bad air quality for over 800 places/times, with a total of 2,000 kilometers in length. Since the promotion of “Self-governance Articles for Air Pollution Prevention and Control of Designated Construction Engineering in Yunlin County” three years ago, a total of 27 construction engineering cases have complied with the self-governance articles, with 10 places installing green fences, 14 places installing painted fences, and 3 others having not built fences.
