Promotion of Boiler Improvement

Absrtact
The Environmental Protection Agency has strengthened the controls on various emission sources in order to improve air quality of our nation. The “Boiler Air Pollutant Emission Standard” published in 2018 is a strict control on all boilers all over the country regardless of their scale. Furthermore a subsidy program has been put up at the same time to encourage the boiler users to replace or improve their boilers. Six open meetings were provided to elaborate necessity and importance of boiler improvement in view of regulation, technology and economy and collect existing service conditions of boilers and difficulties in improvement from the participants in the early stage of this project. Next we applied the list of boiler users provided by relevant parties and collected by ourselves in the visualized statistics software for further analysis, determine the improvement potential and propose coping strategies. At the same time, we kept collecting concerned information to establish auxiliary tools including a cost-benefit diagnostic table and convenient kit etc. and arranged on-site visits in 35 places to investigate existing situations of the boiler users closely and difficulties in such improvement of participants of different industries so as to continuously revise and improve the auxiliary tools, strategies and solutions. In addition, we held three project meetings for discussion and promotion based on the topics including improvement strategy and liquefied petroleum gas multi-cylinder system. The data provided by the Environmental Protection Bureau indicates, with regard to the improvement outcome of non-industrial boilers of our nation in 2018, total 338 boilers were improved and 10.918 tons of particulate matter, 98.470 tons of sulfur oxides and 50.381 tons of nitrogen oxides were reduced.
