The Taichung Low Carbon City Development Promotion and Evaluation Project

The Taichung Low-Carbon City Development Promotion and Evaluation Project runs from January 10th 2018 to December 31st 2018. This project progresses towards the completion of the stated targets in accordance with the contract. The initial results are as follows: (1) Provision of case studies on local and international low-carbon cities (2) Completion of performance assessment on climate change action plan among departments; Compilation of progress reports and review the performance assessment standards (3) One press conferences and fourteen discussion meetings in relation to low-carbon policy were hosted (4) Completion of the analysis on GHG emission trend in Taichung and 5 other cities along with the long-term emission requirements among departments in accordance with the “GHG emission reduction and management Act” (5) Completion of the analysis on climate change adaptation strategies in Taichung and 5 other cities (6) Completing the draft of “Taichung City GHG Control Implementation Plan” (7) Suggestions on the amendments of “Autonomous Regulations for the Promotion of Low Carbon City” were proposed (8) Completing the draft on the guidelines of low-carbon events in Taichung City (9) Completion of assisting the City government in inputting climate change related information to CDP registry and cCR (10) Completion of visit to the ICLEI world congress (11) Completion of proposals on the climate change promotional event and the awarding ceremony of “low-carbon sustainable city contribution awards” (12) Completion of 6 sessions of the low-carbon 2.0 educational series (13) Completion of 4 experience-exchange meetings (14) The website expansion plan of low-carbon Eco life Net was proposed and arrangement is underway (15) Continuous maintenance and updates on official website and 6 marketing campaigns via Facebook were conducted.
