2018 Chiayi City Catering Industry Malodor Pollution Prevention and Reduction Plan

The project is positioned at the bridge between agency, Catering industry enterprises and general public, reinforcing the prevention equipment installation and maintenance of catering industry enterprises in this city, reducing the pollutant emission of catering industry enterprises and complaint of public to enhance air quality in Chaiyi City. Various work achievements are abstracted as follows: 1. Study and establish regulations governing the prevention equipment in this city (1) Collect domestic catering industry pollution control related information and summarize the list of 91 domestic catering industry air pollution control equipment suppliers, among them, the services of 36 suppliers are available in Chiayi City. (2) Provide Rules for Chiayi City Catering Industry Air Pollution Control Equipment Enforcement and Management. (3) Provide Catering Industry Pollution Prevention Guidelines (including appropriate control equipment form for small food and business enterprises). (4) Conduct odor test for each catering industry venue via odor detector (model OMX-SRM) to propose the way of establishing odor data standards. (5) Provide page for newly established catering industry enterprise to actively report air pollution related information at catering industry industry pollution prevention propaganda webpage as to facilitate the control and improvement guidance. 2. Survey Chiayi City catering industry basic information to create database (1) Complete basic information survey of 408 catering industry enterprises. The overall TSP reduction is estimated 24.28 tons/year, PM10 23.31 tons/year, PM2.5 20.98 tons/year, THC 64.91 tons/year and NMHC 28.56 tons/year. (2) Complete the summary of survey results for 2 markets in Chiayi City (Eastern Market, Western Market) and 3 night markets (Wenhua Night Market, Mituo Nigh Market, Chialofour Night Market) and 6 business circles (Trains Station Circle, Rear Station Circle, Chueiyang Road Circle, Zhongcheng Park Circle, Dashiaoya Road Circle, Wenhua Road Circle), total in 1,215 catering industry enterprises. (3) Establish catering industry basic information management database website of this city to efficiently control current conditions of catering industry industry. 3. Promote environmental restaurant and environmental catering industry circle (night market) (1) Organize 15 catering industry pollution control conferences, total in 416 participants. (2) Organize “Fresh Environment Restaurant Election” award ceremony and achievement presentation. 4. Guide catering industry enterprises to carry out the operation of pollution reduction and public complaint (1) Establish catering industry industry air pollution control guidance hotline 05-216-0978. (2) Guide 24 enterprises to complete (or partial) improvement: 2 enterprises install gas-collecting channel; 7 enterprises lift, repair and change the exhaust outlet; 8 enterprises add processing (filter cotton); 6 enterprises add static dust collector; 2 enterprises add packed tower; 1 enterprise install active carbon filtering hook processor; 4 enterprise add bucket washing machine; 1 enterprise adopts low pollution fuel alternatively; 1 enterprise seal the grill stand. (3) Experts and scholars give instructions to 42 enterprises on site: especially invite expert (scholar) professor Mi, Shiao-Shuan of Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science and professor Chou, Ming-Shien of National Sun Yat-Sen University to provide improvement orientation and suggestions aiming at odor pollution. (4) 40 catering industry functional samplings, and conduct effect verification aiming at the smoke and odor notable grill (Kechuan Grill), fry (3Q Crispy Chicken), and stir fry (Hutung Cusine). 5. Other cooperative management and cooperative matters (1) Produce 2,000 each of catering industry pollution control propaganda handbooks and leaflets (2) Establish catering industry pollution prevention propaganda website (3) Publish 4 air pollution related environmental news (4) Organize 1 visit for small size oil fume prevention facility at Taipei Ningshia Night Market (5) Organize 1 technology transfer training
