To make the effectiveness of the cross-Straits communication and cooperation last, the major tasks of this project are to understand the air pollution issues in China and to provide a platform for the experts to discuss and communicate with each other. Therefore, the information including (1) the strategies conducted in China to control air pollution, such as the 13th Five-Year Plan, the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan and Three-year Action Plan for Winning the Battle for a Blue Sky; and (2) the trends of air quality in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan have been collected and reviewed as well. In addition, two conferences in the field of air quality improvement have been held and the second stage of the cooperative project focusing on the topic of air monitoring has been planned, to promote the cross-Straits communication and cooperation. The ultimate objective of this project is to control the air pollution and improve the air quality in both Taiwan and China.
