Estabishment of Platform for Air Quality Model in Taiwan

Absrtact
The purpose of this project is to establish three-dimensional air quality model suitable for using in Taiwan to modelling PM2.5 and ozone. The air quality model CMAQ is used in this study because of its applications in the US and around the world. Based on the base year in TEDS10, simulations by WRF and CMAQ have been conducted for the whole year 2016. The emission data for eastern Asia and TEDS for Taiwan have been treated by using SMOKE to input to CMAQ. The self-established SMOKE can also be used for air quality control design and permit process. All WRF, SMOKE, and CMAQ have been installed in work station and ready to use. Air quality model information sharing platform has also been setup. The whole base year of TEDS10, year 2016, has been simulated by using CMAQv5.3.1. The results for model simulation performance evaluation show that there are 93.3% and 91.2% of agreement for PM2.5 and ozone simulations, respectively. But the percentage of site agreement for ozone simulation still needs to be improved.
