Bottom ash is generated from waste incineration, and in Taichung City it used to be sent to landfill sites for disposal. In order to extend the lifespan of landfills and to promote bottom ash recycling policy by the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA). In 2017, Environmental Protection Bureau (EPB) of Taichung City Government commissioned Rong-Bao company to handle the disposal of bottom ash in three incineration plants(2016.12.28~ 2018.07.26), in 2018, EPB of Taichung City Government commissioned Shu-Yuan company to handle the disposal of bottom ash in Wenshan and Wurih Incineration Plants, and Re-Use Company to handle the disposal of bottom ash in Houli Incineration Plant, in 2019, EPB of Taichung City Government commissioned Re-Use company to handle the disposal of bottom ash in Wenshan Incineration Plants, Shu-Yuan company and CJI industrial company to handle the disposal of bottom ash in Houli and Wurih Incineration Plants respectively. In addition, the building and operating company of Wurih Incineration Plant, ‘Leading Energy Corporation’, also commissioned Shu-Yuan company to handle the recycling of bottom ash generated from Wurih Incineration Plant in 2018 and July to October in 2019, and commissioned CJI industrial company to handle the recycling of bottom ash generated from Wurih Incineration Plant in 2019.
