This year, Taichung city government has proposed three major goals in response to Mayor Shiow-Yen Lu’s ideology of the city's low-carbon strategy. These goals include "Act immediately, public sector go first", "Double the solar energy and benefit minority groups", and "Reinforce flood resilience and cool down the city". In addition to the routine business of the Taichung City Low-Carbon Office, it has added large propotion of renewable energy development and resilience adaption. Therefore, this project has assisted the Taichung City Low-Carbon Office in accumulating energy in different areas through this year's plan. This year's project has five focal points including “strategic research and analysis”, “drawing up and tracking the city's climate policy”, “promoting The city's low-carbon targets”, “matching supplies and demands between public and private sectors”, and “raising the city's reputation”. This project has to do works both on routine business maintaining mataining and capacity building of transition in each focal point. In terms of the capacity building, this year’s project not only strengthen the abilities but also raise the level of Taichung City Low-Carbon Office in collaboration with relevant bureaus on mitigation and adaption. This collaborating mode has made Taichung City Low-Carbon Office more comprehensive in response to climate change.
