Compilation of Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Expenditure Account
Absrtact |
In 2012, United Nations System of Environmental-Economic Accounting proposed the Environmental Protection Expenditure Accounts (EPEA) to identify and measure environmental concerns for a society through the supply and the use of environmental protection services and through the adoption of production and consumption behaviors toward preventing environmental degradation. It has been recognized as an international standard and adopted by many economies. The aim of this project is to compile Taiwan's environmental protection expenditure accounts. Four tables are included in this framework. Production of environmental protection specific services, supply and use of environmental protection specific services, expenditure for environmental protection purposes, and financing of national expenditure on environmental protection. Estimates of output and use by general government, businesses, and households for 2020 are illustrated by utilizing the existing data. A trial survey is conducted to evaluate the feasibility of obtaining complete information for compiling Taiwan’s EPEA.
