2022–2023 Environmental Protection Project Data Warehousing Expansion and Maintenance Project

Absrtact
Each year, the Environmental Protection Administration and the Environmental Protection Bureaus in counties and cities nationwide outsource hundreds of projects covering various environmental protection businesses. This project merged the case closeout processes of the Environmental Protection Project Achievement Report (EPR) and the Raw Data Share Warehouse (RDSW) systems into a one-stop system to facilitate the use of existing project information for industry, government agencies, and academia, as well as to improve the case closeout process operating between different systems for contractors and case officers. The new system was named the Environmental Protection Project Achievement Warehouse Management System (EPAW). This system also provided statistics and data verification services. On June 30, 2022, following the amended L-L-2-4-02 Standard Operating Procedures for Project Data Collection by the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan, this project adjusted the operation process of the EPAW and optimized the system functions to achieve the goal of “designated sharing” raw data. The Environmental Project’s Achievement Reports Query System (EPQ) has been established since 2009 to provide the public with access to achievement reports of environmental projects. After numerous revisions, the query function was found inadequate for users. Therefore, the Openfind Enterprise Search (OES) engine was introduced in August 2022 to optimize the search function and renovate the website interface, as well as to re-establish the keyword logic to enrich the EPQ and its diversity. The system also provided users with full-text search and complex queries. In addition, the EPQ has also incorporated a responsive web design and has been awarded the AA rating for accessibility to meet user requirements and enhance the user experience.
