This project conducted to a series of works to effectively manage toxic chemical substances, concerned chemical substances, and environmental agents. The works were listed as following:
1. To inspect the management of toxic chemical substances at plants and their emergency response plan.
2. To verify detection and alarm equipment for toxic chemical substances by the specialists.
3. To held forums to promote the effective management of toxic chemical substances and concerned chemical substances.
4. To verify the factory’s response for disaster incident without pre-caution.
5. To held forums to promote the safety for using environmental agents and the populace.
6. To train and held the forum for environmental agent suppliers.
7. To visit the environmental agent suppliers and plants, and pest control operators on sites.
8. To check and verify the labels and advertisements of environmental agents in the markets, night markets, environmental agent vendors and drugstores.
9. To check and verify the fake and illegal environmental agents.
10. To visit the chemicals vender to investigate the amount of concerned chemical substances in stock and flow of concerned chemical.
At present, the progress of this project has achieved 100% and matched criteria of contract. The concise results of this project showed as following:
1. Organize 13 sessions of legal briefings for operators of toxic chemical substances.
2. Organize 4 sessions promoting the "Five Rings of Food Safety" policy.
3. Revise the city’s evacuation and sheltering procedures for toxic chemical disasters and continue updating the New Taipei City Disaster Prevention and Rescue Plan - Toxic Chemical Disaster Prevention Strategies.
4. Inspect 450 chemical companies.
5. Cross-check 455 GPS transportation records and conduct 4 sessions on-site vehicle GPS inspections.
6. Inspect 357 operators for toxic chemical substances.
7. Conduct 27 training or unannounced tests.
8. Organize 3 practical training sessions for disaster response personnel on response and protective equipment.
9. Inspect and guide the use of 107 detection and alarm devices.
10. Expand and maintain the hazard information platform and management system for toxic chemical operations.
11. Conduct sampling and testing for 17 cases of concerned chemical substances.
12. Organize 3 emergency response drills for disasters of toxic chemical substances.
13. Conduct 4 unannounced communication tests.
14. Revise the risk simulation, response, and evacuation plans for toxic chemical operations in the 21 districts of New Taipei City.
15. Cross-check 205 operation records for toxic and concerning chemicals.
16. Conduct 1 occupational safety and health management session.
17. Inspect and provide guidance to 119 environmental pesticide-related businesses.
18. Conduct evaluations for pest control operators.
19. Inspect 1,006 labels of environmental pesticides, identifying 14 expired products.
20. Conduct 10 market inspections for counterfeit, prohibited, or substandard pesticides.
21. Analyze 11 samples of commercially available environmental pesticides for active ingredients and concentrations.
22. Organize 6 informational sessions on using environmental pesticide.
23. Inspect pesticide applications at 10 business locations.
24. Conduct 2 public education outreach activities on environmental pesticide safety and chemical safety.
25. Provide guidance and inspections for 489 environmental pesticide advertisements.
26. Complete cross-checking of pest control operators’ operation records for the period from January to October.
