Yilan Hsien Environmental Protection Bureau is actively implementing national environmental protection policy, effectively controlling water pollution sources to minimize pollutant discharges and prevent damages and contamination of river basins within the jurisdiction of the Hsien, upgrading pollution source auditing efficiency, and, at the same time, in responding to the environmental impact to the Yilan Area resulting from the convenient transportation through the opening of Bei Yi Highway Snow Mountain Tunnel, has developed plan to implement "Year 2010 Yilan Hsien Basin and Water Pollution Auditing Control Program (including water quality monitoring and water pollution accidents emergency response plan with private organization cooperation treatment)" -- to continue recent years' continuous implementation of water pollution source discharge permit application, review system, and pollution source management organization's active (regular) reporting data file construction. Through water pollution control strategy implementation and study of ecological species for river, lake, sensitive ocean quality and important water body, harbor and ship audit and evaluation, the results are to actually control water body and water pollution sources within the jurisdiction area. And, assist by the water pollution source data management as reference for control strategy planning of water pollution sources within the jurisdiction, the improvement of water pollution control efficiency is achieved.
