Yunlin County Environmental Protection Bureau continues to promote the “2010 Diesel Vehicle Dynamometer Smoke Emission and Diesel Oil Quality Monitoring and Testing Plan,” in order to reduce the impact of the diesel vehicle smoke emission on the air quality and the health of citizens. This project lasted for one year from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011. The tasks of the project were fully completed. This project mainly made use of visual inspection of exhaust fumes, roadside spot inspection, and station inspection as method to ask the drivers of the high-pollution emitting vehicles to go to a station for inspection. Furthermore, in order to reduce the pollution from the exhaust fumes of vehicles and prevent the use of illegal diesel fuel, Yunlin County Environmental Protection Bureau continues to monitor and test the quality of diesel fuel and tries to uncover unlicensed gas stations.
