The “Waste Reduction and Recycling Project of Penghu County 2010 ” project was conducted by Asia Environmental Technical Corporation from August 2, 2010 to December 31, 2010. Main tasks of this project include implementing the Penghu County’s waste reduction strategies and auditing and propagandizing recycling program. To enhance public’s awareness on waste reduction and recycling, different propaganda activities were held to targeted groups such as students, communities, tour guides, new immigrants, and local venders. Occupational trainings were also held to train garbage-collecting crews.
Auditing program of this project contains auditing retailers selling EPA enlisted commodities or containers whether had established recycling facilities to collect discarded containers, discarded dry-cells, food residues, and discarded fluorescent tubes properly and auditing retailers, wholesalers, and public institutes whether had followed EPA’s policies on restricting use of plastic containers and plates. Other tasks of this project include conducting imagine-refreshing programs for waste-recycling merchants and recycling facilities, assisting Penghu County on conducting administrative errands.
All the tasks had been accomplished successfully and met the quantified targets.
