This project was implemented in response to the Declaration and the Plan of Action of the Ocean-related Ministers of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in order to promote partnership between the public and private sectors. Under this project, the 23nd meeting of the APEC Marine Resource Conservation Working Group (MRCWG), held June 21-23, 2010, in Lima, Peru, was attended by the principal investigator of this project. In the meeting, the results of the 10th APEC Roundtable Meeting on the Involvement of the Business/Private Sector held in 2009 were reported. The 2011 project proposal for the 12th APEC Roundtable Meeting on the Involvement of the Business/Private Sector was put forward at the meeting. Furthermore, under this project, the 11th APEC Roundtable Meeting on the Involvement of the Business/Private Sector was held in Taipei on August 31-September02, 2010. Representatives from Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Malaysia, USA, Vietnam, Australia and Chinese Taipei attended the meeting to discuss issues related to marine conservation. In addition, Volume XII Issues I and II of the APEC Bulletin on Marine Resource Conservation and Fisheries as well as maintenance work for the project web pages were completed.
