The enactment of current the Drinking Water Management Act, since initially promulgated for implementation in 1972, totals 21 articles originally and presents 31 articles after several times of amendment. Environmental Protection Administration is the central competent authority. With the modifications of the organization of the Executive Yuan, Environmental Protection Administration, Water Resources Agency , Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Soil and Water Conservation Bureau will be integrated into Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Therefore, Water Supply Act will belong to Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. In order to improve the efficiency and quality of government services with the hope of reforming government organizations, the project entitled “The plan for researching the applicability of integration the Drinking Water Management Act and Water Supply Act” ,was funded by Environmental Protection Administration.
The objectives of this research project: 1. analyze the problems of the concurrent relationship between the Drinking Water Management Act and Water Supply Act, 2. review the applicability of integration of the Drinking Water Management Act and Water Supply Act, 3. propose the suggestion of integration of Drinking Water Management Act and Water Supply Act for the preparation of execution by analyzing relevant documents and conducting roundtable forum discussions.
