This 「Ping Tung Low Carbon Sustainable County Executive Project」was executed from April 2013 to November 2013,. The important achievements as follows:
1. Accompany with the「Ping Tung low carbon county promotion division」, to collect the achievements of this county government, and evaluate the effectiveness of carbon reduction. All those achievements was presented in 「2013 White paper of low carbon promotion of Ping Tung」，which include 8 main activities, and cover the 8 functions of EPA. Especially, focus in the mountain, sea, river and island characteristics of Ping Tung. Besides, to assist the traditional industries transformation, and create green industries was also an important mission.
2. Accompany with the policy of EPA, Ping Tung County adopt and dominate two activities：”resources recycling” and “renewable energy”. This project studied and completes 4 proposals, and submitted to EPA for review. Which include；” Establish and promotion of solar air condition in roof”, “Biomass energy promotion from miscellaneous organic waste”, ”Pig Toilet and biogas center development” and “Promotion of reuse of effluent waste water”. We also complete 10 proposals with high potential to promote in Ping Tung. After reviewed by the committee of low carbon of south Taiwan, all those proposals was submitted to EPA.
3. In the assistance of low carbon communities, 20 communities were visited by experts to review the previous low carbon activities a propos comments for the future promotion. Two potential communities, Yung-Lo and Ser-Ting were suggested to be the environment Education place. This project assist the two communities prepared the document, and help them to edit the teaching guide book, and apply to EPA.
