The project has been implemented over period from March 15, 2013 to December 31, 2013 with objectives to assist the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) to enforce the ongoing implement of the Creation of Sustainable and High-quality Environmental Sanitation Six-year Plan through the execution of the fifth-year work items from this Six-year Plan (which is being implemented over the period 2009-2014). According to EcoLife data upto November 2013, a combined total of 29,743,034 reports regarding to inspection, patrol, clean-up and activity over the period. In the Clean Up Taiwan Multi-tiered mobilization sub-project, environmental inspection and environmental care work was actively supported by 7,423 Clean Up Taiwan sub-teams. In the Improvement in Environmental Sanitation in Urban and Rural Areas sub-project, 730 communities have met the 1,165 environmental sanitation sustainability criteria; 22 individual counties and cities have completed clean-up of 392 tourist attractions. In the Building Model Environmental Protection Districts sub-project, financial assistance was provided to help 22 entities achieve compliance with the 83-item environmental sanitation sustainability criteria; 22 localities were selected as 2014 Model Environmental Protection Districts. In the Cleaning Up Taiwan’s Coastline sub-project, total of volunteers from environmental protection groups and participating enterprises undertook the cleaning up of 11,908 km of key stretches of coastline.
