An opportunity to promote cross-strait collaboration on energy saving and carbon reduction issues has been identified, especially given the cultural and economic links between Taiwan and Mainland China. The “Promotion of Cross-strait Cooperation Mechanism for Carbon-related Industries” project aims to deliver such collaboration.
The project shall initially focus on collecting and analyzing details about the approaches that Taiwanese and Chinese carbon-related industries have used for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, in order to develop substantial cross-strait interaction and cooperation, the project team has been completed to communicate directly with both Taiwanese and Chinese carbon-related industries, hold an industrial consensus conference, and arrange and invite experts to give any suggestions for concerning cross-strait industrial cooperation in the meetings.
Subsequently, the project team has been completed to assess and simulate a considerable cooperation of operation mechanism for carbon-related industries between Taiwan and China, and to develop clear cooperation methods with anticipated timescales. The project has been to provide a feasible strategy of the cross-strait collaboration and plan an integrated program for the reciprocal co-action. The project has aimed at the carbon-related industries to propose substantial suggestions for coopoeration between Taiwan and China.
