Environmental Education Act starts from June 5 in TAIWAN, it hopes to let national people understand the relation between person, society, and environment. The act improves environmental ethics and responsibility of national people, maintains balance of environmental ecology, and respects life. It can also improve social justice, cultivate environmental citizenship and environmental learning community, in order to achieve sustainable development.
Excellent State Technology Corporation conducts 84 environmental education activities during working schedule, and about 9000 people joining in total. Activity targets of this year are “Ocean Ecology” and “Local Specialty”. We hope to awake Kinmen resident about ocean environmental protections which had been ignored a long time by conducting environmental education activities, and awake the action force of local people to fight for the environment of their hometown. We hope to make relevant recommendations by conducting activities as the basic of promoting environmental education project in Kinmen county government. We also hope to construct environmental education themes with ecological and cultural characteristics, which belongs to Kinmen county government.
Environmental Protection Bureau of Kinmen county promotes ways of green consumption actively, like green shops, environmental protection hotels, environmental protection restaurants, green weddings and government or nongovernmental green purchasing which is promoting by EPA. We let people to contact green mark or carbon label products surrounding effectively to construct easy ways to do green consumption. We hope to expand ways to do green consumption, and keep increasing the numbers of green shops, environmental protection hotels, environmental protection restaurants and environmental protection canteens. We teach industry members to apply green mark or carbon label, and coach government or nongovernmental to do green purchasing to combine with green shops and school activities. We hope to let people understand the main ideas of green consumption by promoting activities, and do green consumption into practice.
