Taiwan and Korea signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on technical cooperation in soil and groundwater protection in Seoul on August 1st, 2012, and it is an official exchange in soil and groundwater field within two countries. According to the MOU commitments, this project would conduct exchange activities to advance exchange and collaboration between two countries, so we drew up two exchange topics and carried out with two Korean exchange teams (Hannam University and DongMyung Enterprise Co., LTD) respectively. During the execution of the project, we held two experience exchange workshops and a soil and groundwater sampling demonstration for each topic. Both countries communicated, discussed and exchanged about pollution investigation and remediation technologies, contaminated site management system, industry structure, market trends, et cetera. Then, studied and put forward improvement proposals in Taiwan. In addition, we invited two Korean exchange teams to attend the“2015 International Workshop: Contaminated Groundwater Characterization and Monitoring” by Taiwan EPA and USEPA environmental cooperation program, and visited a pollution control site (Chenergy company). The MOU will expire in 2016, and it will be renewed by mutual consent. By ways of interviews, topic discussion, and information collection with Korea exchange teams, we gained the preliminary information of Korea soil and groundwater regulation, technologies, market, industry, et cetera. Whereby study and analysis to propose future cooperation and improvement suggestions between two countries.
