There were 734 factories which operated toxic chemical substances in Taoyuan City and the amount of factories was maximum in Taiwan. As soon as the disaster happen, those toxic chemicals may be released into an environment and threatened the peoples’ lives. Therefore, the Department of Environment Protection in Taoyuan City proposed this project to manage the operation of toxic chemicals in the factories, avoid the toxic chemical incidents, and prevent toxic air pollutants.
The main tasks of this project were listed as following.
1.to investigate factories which operated toxic chemicals;
2.to verify the application documents for operation of toxic chemicals;
3.to figure out the extraordinary operation between suppliers and manufacturers;
4.to hold symposiums of toxic chemicals, air pollution control and radiation disaster for factories;
5.to counsel the operating factories with those specialists ;
6.to visit factories which illegally operated toxic chemicals;
7.to hold tests without pre-caution for rescue potency in toxic chemical incidents between a factory and its partners in the same emergency response team;
8.to double-check the emergency contact person by telephone;
9.to maintain and purchase personal protection utility for toxic air pollutants incidents;
10.to response the toxic chemical incidents.
