The purpose of environmental education promotion is making the public to understand the relation of interdependence between the individual and society, improving the conscience of environmental ethic and responsibility. Also, it’s important to learn how to maintain the balance of natural environment, have respect for life, and enhance the social justice. Moreover, to achieve the sustainable development, it would cultivate the entire to become an environmental citizen and organize an environmental learning community. Environmental Protection Bureau in Yunlin County activates the idle space of the railway warehouse groups in Dounan Taliwu Cultural Park. The warehouse No. 4 and No. 5 have established as Yunlin Environmental Education Center. The highlight of the center is electronic multimedia interactive device, which blends the environmental educational knowledge and the environmental topic related to Yunlin County.
With the simple character performance and contextual interaction, it could make the old and the young to understand the concept of environmental problems and education. In the center, there are 8 thematic exhibition areas, "Overview of Environmental Education", "Multi-ecological in Yunlin", "Environment of Agricultural Capital", "Saving Energy and Reducing Carbon Emissions to Protect the Earth", Conservation and Recycling of Water Source", “Protect Our Land", "Our River", and "Acceptance of Environmental Protection", which provide the public a complete professional service in environmental education by using the superior hardware facilities and resources in the center.
Purpose:
1. Promote the knowledge and topics related to the environmental education, and provide school and community with all kind of service and demand on environmental education.
2. Promote environmental education and recreational travel by combining with the nearby attractions.
3. Combining with the local area and the surrounding communities, the Association develops the partnership, introduces the community resources, intensifies the relationship between human and environment of the local area, and creates a win-win situation between Education Center and the community.
