"Environmental education (EE) capacity" is used as theoperational framework in this project. Six cities and counties arecovered in this project: Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, andPenghu. The tasks including leadership academy, capacity building,technological support, research and evaluation, and disseminationpartnership are planned according to the five programs of a US EEcapacity project.This year, we integrated the environmental education resourcesand manpower of industries, governments, academic institutes, andNGOs in southern region to form partner networks, developedprofessional learning communities, summarized the features of localenvironmental resources to effectively promote environmentaleducation, analyzed the current status of environmental education interms of agencies, venues, and personnel to propose feasiblemeasures. We also adopted industrialization as a theme fordevelopment and devised a tentative program to assess subsequentdevelopmental possibilities.
