This project is designed to assist the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan organize activities relating to the International Environmental Partnership. (IEP) The results are as follows:
1. We organized one IEP joint opening ceremony, and a five-day-course offering training in environmental law enforcement.
2. We gave assistance to the annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Mercury Monitoring Network (APMMN). We also helped with training courses in international environmental law and the International E-Waste Management Network (IEMN), along with related conferences/ event administration and promotional activities. We also gave assistance to the "The Global Environmental Education Partnership, GEEP" project in general administrative issues (such as accounting, collecting the receipts, and communication.)
3. We have updated the IEP and IEMN websites and created new promotional brochures to enhance publicity for the projects.
4. We organized the two-day-long international Asia-Pacific Children’s Health Symposium and three conferences involving environmental exchanges of Taiwanese experts. Our delegates also visited the U.S. and promoted our goals there.
5. We have compiled data relating to IEP projects and activities over past years, which will serve as a reference for review of its implementation and evaluation of its performance. This data base will also serve as a mechanism for enabling exchanges between environmental associations and industries in accordance with the New Southbound Policy.
The issues we covered during implementation of this Project for Administrative Support of International Environmental Protection Exchanges included: environmental law enforcement training courses, generally implementing administrative contracts, establishing a professional information exchange network relating to international exchanges and continual review of child health and environmental issues. We also strengthened the diversity and depth of environmental exchanges with Southeast Asian countries and made proposals regarding our fixed costs.
