With the rise of environmental consciousness, there are more people than ever who are willing to be aware of environmental issues and demand for higher quality of living. Hence the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) proposes a plan called “Building a Quiet and Comfortable Home Program” and an instruction manual called “Friendly Environment Establishment for Urban and Rural Area”, whereby local units can be subsidized after being screened for 14 types of tasks that fall under categories of environment and health sustainability indexes. The EPA will support the subsidized units to clean and reorganize their environment as well as beautify their cities. The program will run from 2015 to 2018 with a period of 4 years.
Since 2015, there have been 53 units being granted subsidies in promoting “Friendly Environment Establishment for Urban and Rural Area” program, including 8 units in 2015, 16 units in 2016, and 29 units this year. Under the collaborated effort between the central and local governments, the “Friendly Environment Establishment for Urban and Rural Area” program is expected to provide much more comfortable and more beautiful environment with higher quality for the general public.
The Project purpose was to build a high grade environment and high quality life. Also, this project provided help for promotional affairs related to the friendly environment establishment for urban and rural region and obtained the achievements as follows.
1.2017 “Friendly Environment Establishment for Urban and Rural Area” inspection and supervisory report for executive organization: Accomplished 29 organizations’ inspections and supervision for “green network registration” and 16 construction site inspections. The work can assist the executive organization to manage the schedule and control the quality for compensative construction projects.
2.2014-2016 “Friendly Environmental Protection Demonstration Region” monitoring and inspection: The 28 executive organizations were to be inspected for O＆M items.
3.2018 executive organization selection for “Friendly Environment Establishment for Urban and Rural Area” : The 19 individual organizations can be selected by 3 steps including paper review sessions, site review and overall review in exceptional and advantage levels.
4.2017 seminar for local government was held on Oct. 17.
5.2015-2017 “Friendly Environment Establishment for Urban and Rural Area” report was compiled. Also, the investigation result of “Satisfaction of Residents” had been combined in this report. This report is published as an e-book and provided for EPA use.
6.Accomplished 11 construction site inspections for environmental sanitation.
7.Accomplished 1 press conference for environmental sanitation.
