The Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan (EPA) entrusted the Project: “Resource Recycling Strategic Planning and Promotion Project” to Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) this year 2018. This project extends the achievements made in the formulation of sustainable materials management strategy of the EPA in the last five years and continues to improve it under the circular economy concept. At first, the relevant strategy and the compilation of circular economy cases in Taiwan are completed according to the review of the international and domestic strategies and cases. Secondly, the future objectives and the improvement strategies are proposed by the review of the indicators of resource productivity and cyclic use rate. The analysis of two critical materials, Silicon and Cobalt, is also completed for the strategy. Finally, the information system is updated and enhanced and a Chinese-English website is established for the international communication and experience exchange.
