In order to cope with various reviews on environmental education certification, facilitate the application process and improve the efficiency of the review on environmental education certification, the Environmental Protection Personnel Training Institute of the Environmental Protection Department of the Executive Yuan (hereinafter referred to as EPPTI) has set up an environmental education certification system since 2011, which can provide online services for certification/ extension application and review and back-end business management functions of the certification system. In order to improve the efficiency of environmental education course management, the environmental education institution curriculum and the operating system of examination and evaluation management were expanded and the overall operating process was electronized in 2014; furthermore electronic resources were shared through data interface to improve the management mechanism of environmental education.
In addition, the system also can provide the public a site map, online inquiry services for "certification information, application progress, courses offered by the institution, courses in professional fields and introduction of payment mechanisms of supermarket" etc. and simple login service by integration with accounts of three main education systems, course/ activity information hyperlinks and announcement to simplify the procedures.
This year (2018), for the purpose of simplifying the procedures of certification and extended review for environmental educators, we have added and modified the functions of certification, extended review and form printing, shortening the working time of establishing documents with application data and document management. Moreover we have established a recertification operating system to improve the certificate obtaining rate of environmental educators and expanded and optimized the sub-systems according to the business demands. Additionally, we have established documents and retrospected various application and administration data regarding environmental educations to strengthen data management and utilization. And total 714 documents established with certification data and 16 facilities have been retrospected and 15 certification files have been modified in total. Function development and optimization of each sub-system are described in detail in Chapter II and III of this report.
