廢電冰箱發泡隔熱材研製燃料棒之可行性評估

中文摘要 廢棄電冰箱中含有大量之發泡隔熱材(硬質聚氨酯發泡),但由於此材料具有低密度、大體積和掩埋後不易被分解的特性,主要採焚化方式進行處理。根據研究顯示,廢冰箱發泡隔熱材之熱值與燃煤相當,國際間已有將其轉製成固體回收燃料(SRF)的成功經驗。本計畫旨在研擬開發廢冰箱發泡隔熱材再生燃料棒製作技術,並透過研究適當方法,以降低燃燒過程中的有害氣體濃度總量,期將廢棄物轉化為再生能源,達到資源永續利用與循環經濟之目的,並徹底解決廢冰箱發泡隔熱材的最終處置難題。本計畫截至11月底為止,計畫內相關研發、測試與評估工作已全數完成,包括廢電冰箱發泡隔熱材回收處理流程設計與測試、3種抑制劑篩選與測試、原料/燃料棒特性分析,再經破碎、篩選、添加配方與造粒等程序,完成共1.3公噸廢PUR燃料棒之製作,以及透過1次流體化床鍋爐試燒完成燃料棒性能驗證。實測燃燒氣體空氣污染檢測結果均可符合法規標準,相關數據皆可佐證廢PUR燃料棒作為輔助燃料之適用性,並可作為未來推廣至規模實廠應用之參考依據。

Feasibility Study of producing SRF with waste rigid polyurethane foam from refrigerators

英文摘要 Waste refrigerators contain large amount of rigid polyurethane foam (PUR) insulation which possesses the characteristics of low density, large volume and difficult to decompose after being buried. The method to deal with waste polyurethane foam in the past was mainly incineration. However, according to international studies, the heat of combustion of waste refrigerator foam is similar to coal, and could therefore be converted into SRF (solid recovered fuel) and then used as alternative fuel for boilers. This project aims to develop the technology of producing SRF from waste refrigerator polyurethane foam, and also find the formula to minimize air pollution during combustion. By the end of November, project related R&D, testing and assessment has all been completed, including: design and testing of the recycling process of waste polyurethane foam; screening and testing of three inhibitors; analysis of waste PUR foam and SRF characteristics; and the production of 1.3 tonnes of waste PUR fuel. The performance of the PUR fuel was then examined through one fluidized bed boiler test burn. The concentration of combustion pollutions measured can meet the regulatory standards. The relevant measured data can be further used as a reference for large-scale application of waste PUR fuel.
