The administrative area of Hsinchu City (hereinafter referred to as this city) covers 0.29% of the area of Taiwan and Fujian. The rivers flowing within its jurisdiction include the four major river basins including Tauqian Stream, Kaya Stream, Sanxing Stream, and Yangang Creek, and Kaya Creek and Yangang. The stream belongs to the cross-county city basin type. In addition, the Science and Technology Industrial Park is located in the territory of Hsinchu City. The wastewater discharge water body of the Science and Industrial Park is the Keya River Basin within the jurisdiction; there are Xiangshan Industrial Zones in the Sanxing River and Yangang River Basins. There is no unified wastewater treatment plant management in this industrial zone, which results in varying degrees of wastewater treatment effectiveness. In terms of domestic sewage, the population of this city is about 430,000, and the construction period of sewage sewers is slow. The problem of domestic sewage cannot be greatly improved in a short time. To sum up, the reduction of business wastewater, industrial wastewater and domestic wastewater in this city needs to be regulated through different levels.
