This project assisted the EPA in operating the in-use vehicles noise reporting website system, and the cloud database. For the past ten years, over 360,000 reporting cases were received from the public reported and the police alerted. The number of reported cases increased this year, after analysis of reported case declined by the police alerted increased. In addition, after comparing the cloud with the multiple vehicles that were reported, it was found that 85.3% of the vehicles have not been changed. Show the plan of “not to change modified exhaust pipe again” effectively reduced the unquatified amount of modified vehicle. One training course for the EPD officials、policemen、motor vehicles authorities was held and the vehicle noise measurement procedure was demonstrated. This meeting promotes interaction between units and improves inspection effectiveness. The EPD completed inspection vehicles noise a total of 1,083 sites this year, there were 1,715 vehicles unqualified as the percentage was 47.1%. Vehicle noise measure instruments and technical support for EPD was conducted in 10 places in this project, strengthen the ability of EPD to inspect Large Heavy Motorcycle. Besides, the project also assisted the EPA in promoting two exhaust pipe manufacturers to apply for exhaust pipe noise certification.
