The working items executed in the project include “public toilet upgrade”, “environment improvement”, “waste reduction related”, “bulky waste disposal service transportation determination”, “handling promotion for plastic reduction and resource re-utilization”, “coordina-tion with the work of environment cleanness assessment”, “assisting in-stitutions inputting relevant information on Eco-life system”, and “other necessary information (environment cleanness assessment, public toilet upgrade, and waste reduction) required by various projects carried out by institutions”. The implementation result of each item is as below:
In terms of the work for the public toilet upgrade, the current man-agement number for the listed public toilet is 682 toilets. Until the end of November, the accumulated times of public toilet inspecting included high distinguished toilet 1,823 times and excellent ＆ ordinary toilets 1,145 times; among them, 1,151 times at tourist attraction were included. Besides, the inspection frequency of the 26 public toilets appointed by Environmental Protection Administration as the key inspection was ad-justed to once every two weeks and the accumulated inspection times were 364 times. As for the promotion of public toilet adoption, the pro-cedure of adoption has been competed for 97 toilets, and regular in-spection, providing consumables of cleaning agents, and purchasing hardware facility for renovation have been taken as the methods.
In terms of the work for environment improvement, it has completed 124 locations of vacant land and vacant buildings listed for inspection. They have been completed inspected by April 17th. Press release was issued in compliance with the environment cleanup day every month. Until to the end of November, there were 9 pieces of press release issued. In the operation of dirty point supervision and elimination, 10 places (6 in the east district and 4 in the west district) have been cleared and the total inspection times were 360 times. Assistance in inspecting “standing sign for dog poo” and its maintenance; there are 10 locations for dog poo bags disposal and they are inspected regularly once every two weeks to sup-plement dog poo bags for the public to use. There were 180 times of the inspection during the period. As for assistance in cleaning verification and on-site inspection, there were 195 cases assigned and 182cases of them were passed while 13 cases of them were failed. There were total 102 spots of supervision and inspection required assisting the environ-ment cleanness at the tourist attraction and night market in our city. They have all been completed the cleanness supervision.
In terms of the work for waste reduction, three relevant meetings for open-up the waste bag for inspection has been completed, including the 1st research and discussion meeting held on March 28th, 2019, the 2nd educational training held on May 2nd, 2019, and the third open-up bag research and performance meeting held on September 10th. Until the end of November, the open-up bag inspection has been implemented in 130 locations with the number of open-up bag being 1,521. There were 30 bags failed to meet the requirement, and warning notices have been issued for the requirement of actually carrying out garbage classification. As for the determined number of cases of assisting “bulky waste disposal ser-vice”, there were 399 cases of determination, including 206 cases for disposal transportation assistance, 186 cases judged as no assistance in transportation, and 7 cases have been cleaned up when the assessment personnel arrived.
In terms of the promotion for plastic reduction and resource re-utilization, there were 7 pilot promotional activities held for sec-ond-hand item exchange, the rental service on drinking cup and table-ware, and the reduction of using disposable products. It included the ta-bleware rental service at Lan Tan Junior High School Anniversary Campus Market, and there were 294 sets of tableware rented on that day; the promotional activity of “action of plastic reduction” jointly held by Genesis Social Welfare Foundation and Post Office and there were 10,000 people participated; promotional activity of “LOOK ROYAL road running, aiming for reduction” in coordination with LOOK ROYAL RESORT Hotel road running race, and there were 3,000 people participated in the event; holding the environmental friendly tableware rental activity during Wake Up Music Festival, and there were 1,200 sets of tableware rented ; working with large-scale activities for the rental service of environmental friendly cup, and there were 206 sets of table-ware rented on the day; working with Renewal Garden Second-Hand Market and donated 75 bicycles, and giving away 1,800 non-disposable environmental friendly cups during Zhuloshan Road Running Race. Five plastic reduction demonstration areas are established and they are Xiaochuan Egg Pancakes, Daisy’s Grocery Shop, Fleece flower Root Pork Ribs Soup, Laojia Taiyaki, and Quanxingshao Yakigashi respec-tively. All the above shops are supervised to promote plastic reduction. Second-hand bags recycling and collection spots are established, and there are 10 spots established, including 99 Hypermarket - Ren’ai Branch, 99 Hypermarket- Zhongxing Branch, 99 Hypermarket- Nanjing Branch, Wellcome- Chiayi Branch 2, Carrefour- Beimen Branch, Carrefour- Chiayi Branch, RT-MART- Chiayi Branch, Leezen Company - Chiayi Jinshan Branch, B＆Q, and HOLA. So far, there have been 2,601 sec-ond-hand bags activated for re-utilization.
