This project began on February 13, 2019. The objective of this project was to assist in
the advance planning, administration support, quality improvement, and publishing research
and development outcomes of the Science and Technology Program supported by the
Environmental Protection Administration (EPA). This project also held activities of quality
assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) to maintain the quality of the program.
Numerous tasks have been implemented by this project to assist the advance planning of
the program in 2021, including hosting a seminar on the reviewing process and a compiling
report collecting the results of 12 plans. The total amount of approved applications (excluded Foresight Research Program) was NT$169.35 million. The EPA has reviewed 7 outline plans to be implemented in 2020, and the total amount approved by the Executive Yuan was NT$96,980,000. The analysis of self-assessment showed that the implementation outcome
was 30% greater than that of the previous year. This project has completed the performance evaluation of 2018, 7 science and technology plans reviewed by the EPA, and one compiling report on the outcome of the 2018 Science and Technology Program. The analysis of self-assessment indicated a 30% improvement compared with the outcome of the previous year. This project also assigned attendees to participate in 7 essential meetings and completed the analysis of news topics and public opinions. Numerous tasks were completed, including assisting the Ministry of Science and Technology in tracking the progress of the 2019 Science and Technology Program, providing suggestions on revising 25 items in the tracking system, and the planning on requirements and testing of the tracking system. Hosted by this project, the 2019 Forum on Environment and Science attacked a total of 123 participants. Demonstrating technology by using RFID tags and VR/AR, participants’ willingness to re-attend this forum was 90% higher than that of last year. From the forum, 23 papers, 25 posters, one forum monograph, and one forum report were published. The information of the 2019 Science and Technology Forum was uploaded to the EPA website to provide public access to displaying the research and development results of the Science and Technology Program. This project has achieved fruitful results.
