The project aims to introduce the public to climate change related national vision and policy arrangement of the government. To achieve this, domestic and international climate change policy content were first gathered and analyzed and climate change action goals, content and results in Taiwan were then briefly introduced through videos and starters’ pack. Youth forums were also held to connect younger generations and the public sector, making sure the government could perceive what the younger generation envisions about the future development while the youth try to understand decisions made by the government.
The main result include: completed the gathering and research on domestic and international SDGs climate action promotion strategy and has produced a starters’ brochure of Taiwan’s climate action details under the theme of mitigation and adaptation. ‘Youth and National Climate Vision’ forum was held at Chinese Culture University on July 28th, 2020, inviting youth group, experts, scholars and representatives from different government agencies that pay close attention to climate change topics to exchange ideas regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation. The project also designed and presented an easily understandable, 15 minute ‘Results of Reaction to Climate Change in Taiwan’ video that is related to greenhouse gas reduction and climate change adaptation in Taiwan. The draft and revised version of the video were submitted on May 22nd and July 29th respectively, and the final version is expected to be adjusted and produced after follow-up discussion with Taiwan EPA. Currently, the project has produced five piece of climate change related information, which includes Facebook posts, promotion pamphlet and comics. All of the above have all been uploaded to social media for the public to see.
