The principal component analysis method was used to identify factory wastewater pollutants in the Guanyin Industrial Zone, and the verification of the classification of relevant wastewater types was carried out through the existing Guanyin Industrial Zone Administration Bureau’s manufacturer industry database. The results show that the use of time-lapse resin capsules can effectively identify the main components of factory wastewater pollutants and reveal the relationship between the types of factory wastewater pollutants and the industry. When the number of wastewater pollutant detection indicators is large, the quantitative identification process of key pollutants in factory wastewater can be simplified to a certain extent. Taiwan's industrial zones are mostly small and medium-sized enterprises, with many factories and a high proportion of electroplating and metal surface industries. Due to batch operations, long-term sampling with resin time-lapse capsules can obtain representative characteristics. Anion and cation resins can have different adsorption ratios for different heavy metals and different factories (industry), and can provide a basic database for the establishment of metal concentrations in environmental water bodies in industrial areas.
