This project was carried out based on each procedure of public nuisance dispute handling by collected pollution cases. For instance, there were 3 advocacy activities held to enhance knowledge about pollution disputes of the public - a training course for public nuisance search and appraising. The project also held a nation-wide seminar for 2 days. Experts and scholars were invited to share their experiences with offices of other counties and cities. The project continuously strengthened and maintained the content and information security of the public nuisance handling information system. Additional functions of the information system were developed, including case statistics charts, legal assistance case databases, and judicial case searches. The Environmental Protection Administration was assisted in counting the number of pollution cases, handling pollution incidents, tracking the handling results of environmental incidents by local governments, and assisting local governments in updating the newest information. The two cases of evidence investigation consultation and suggestion had been based on pollution cases to experts who invited suggested opinions. There were 10 domestic and 6 foreign environment-damaging cases caused by a public nuisance collected and then reviewed for further analysis. This project provides English or Japanese translation of laws and regulations and articles according to the Environmental Protection Administration instructions, compiles the Handbook of Public Nuisance Disputes Processing to provide a reference for local governments and the public, and has completed the production of 2 promotional comics and promoted them through online activities. In addition, the search and compilation of related news cases have been completed.
