(1) Street sweeping and washing
30,031.75 km of streets were washed for this project, including 26,935.15 km initially contracted + 3,096.6km of streets along the banks of Zhuoshui River as the project was expanded; 16,118.4 km of major roads and streets were swept plus 5,569.09 km of minor ones; thus, a total of 51,719.24 km of roads and streets were swept and washed for the project. 31,406.24 tons of water was used for street washing, which was equal to the water use between 1.01 and 1.08 tons per km per month or an average of 1.05 tons/km.
(2) Evaluation on the performance of street washing and sweeping
The data indicated that a total of 76.65 tons of dusts and debris were collected for major street sweeping, approximately 4.92 to8.69 tons collected per month with 4.76 kg/km of collection; for street sweeping with sweeper vehicles, 4.13 tons of dusts and debris were collected, approximately 0.11 to 0.56 ton collected per month with 0.74 kg/km of collection.
(3) Estimated reduction of pollutants
The projected length of street sweeping and washing was 51,719.24 km in total. According to the reduction equation published by Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan (reduction ＝ length of streets washed × coefficient of reduction), the reduction of TSP resulted from the street sweeping and washing of the project was estimated to be 713.7tons.
(4) Road dirtiness census
A road census on the level of dirtiness was carried out from Jan to Dec 2020 as part of this project. 442 roads and streets, adding up to 2,429.9 km were surveyed. The result indicated that most of roads and streets in Yunlin are Class A at the road dirtiness scale.
(5) Road adoption by corporations
47 corporations and companies in Yunlin have adopted at least a road or street in Yunlin County. The total length of road adoption was 11,194.29 km. The TSP reduction estimated was 154.48 tons.
