Taichung Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions Project initiated from March 1st of 2020 to December 31st of 2020, the current results of the project are as follows:1.Completion of analyzing three oversea greenhouse gas reduction cases, including California, Calgary and Hague. Along with the effective carbon reduction strategies implemented by five major cities in Taiwan; 2. Completion of the “Voluntary Review of the Sustainable Development Goal of Taichung City”. The review addressed six suggestions targeting three aspects from the low-carbon sustainable home certification which has low implementation rate in Taichung city, namely green transportation, green energy saving and resource recycling; 3. Completion of 61 on-site inventory on GHG emitters in Taichung city, among which 21 are regulated and 40 are not, with a total emission of 44,820,382 tons; 4. The institutions that applied for the micro-scale trade-off project are Jasun Bus ,Ltd. and Taichung Bus, Ltd. Based on the scoring results, Jasun Bus ,Ltd. is chosen to apply for EPA registration; 5. Provision of modification on Taichung city autonomous regulations on GHG emitting sources have been discussed multiple times. We will continue to assist in preparing for the legislative procedure according to the need of the Taichung EPB; 6. The urban-level green house gas emissions are 33.32 million tons. Two large emitting sectors are energy-industrial(35.72%), followed by industrial processes(28.87%); 7. Completion of the extension of low-carbon certification for 3 communities, including Gounming Village Office in West District, Shanyang Community Development Association in Dadu District, and Hecheng Village Office in Xitun District; 8. Completion of tracking the implementation of low-carbon facility subsidies for 50 places, including 15 government and school facilities and 35 apartment buildings. The carbon reduction benefit is 419,783 kgCO2e/year; 9. Completion of holding 6 lectures and handmade art courses, which are designed based on the theme of sustainability and low-carbon LOHAS. A total of 446 citizens have participated in these courses.
