This project aims to enhance the capability of chlorinated solvent biological remediation in Taiwan. In this project, we reviewed the global trend of current bioremediation development and concluded a technical map of bioremediation in Taiwan. We also provide suggestions for future development based on the need for net-zero carbon and green, sustainable and resilient remediation. To promote the concept of "precision bioremediation", this project collected the bioaugmentation papers and reports from America, Canada, and Japan and proposed a specification for soil and groundwater bioaugmentation in Taiwan. We also conducted a bioaugmentation field study and an electrochemical remediation field study to complete the puzzle of the bioremediation technology map. Based on the results of the case study and the paper review in this study, we proposed a guideline for chlorinated solvent bioremediation in which the monitoring of natural attenuation is included. The project has also completed the "Management Framework for Microbial and Environmental Data", and established a dashboard for evaluating the effectiveness of chlorinated solvents bioremediation through the analysis of domestic microbial data and environmental factors from chlorinated solvents contaminated sites in Taiwan. In this project, we also developed a route to promote the certification of soil and groundwater remediation technology. We proposed a verification system to validate a remediation technology. This self-announcement and verification system will provide a rigid review process for remediation technology.
