廢紙容器衍生奈米纖維素機能性複合材料應用

中文摘要 由於紙容器表層具有高分子淋膜層,在回收處理上除了需導入清洗程序外,整體散漿效果明顯較一般紙材差,在製程成本偏高且再生產品價值不具顯著經濟效益等因素下,導致相關回收業者無意全力推展紙容器回收事業。此外,高分子淋膜層的分離與殘留對於後續再生紙漿的應用有顯著的影響,因此為了能創造更有經濟效益的紙類循環體系,若能透過可順利打漿之阻隔材料開發以取代高分子淋膜層,將可降低整體難度以及處理成本。本計畫首先與國內廢紙容器處理廠進行連結,以了解現有物料與循環鏈狀態。目前除了消費後紙容器外,乾淨的紙容器裁切邊料每年亦有高達萬噸的產出量,可作為品質較高的紙纖維料源。透過解纖維化程度以及材料極性之控制,所形成之奈米纖維素具有優異的阻隔效果。本研究進一步藉由漿料配方以及精密塗佈製程參數調控,已順利完成連續卷材樣品試製,除能達到最高防油等級外,其於標準散漿測試方法的再製漿率可達~85%,遠優於PE等高分子淋膜紙材。高品質奈米纖維素塗層亦初步通過食用紙容器之溶出試驗,顯示本技術在食品包裝應用上具有可實施性。

Application Development of Nano Cellulose-based Functional Materials from Waste Paper Containers

英文摘要 For the recycling process of waste paper containers, except for an additional cleaning procedure being introducted, the pulping efficiency is worse than uncoated papers because of the existence of laminated plasics on the surface of paper containers. The higher manufacturing cost and low economic value of regenerated products limit the development of recycling business of paper container. In addition, the residues of polymer films in pulps also has impact on paper manufacturing. If the easily repulped barrier coating is developed to replace the polymer laminated film, the processing costs and difficulty will be reduced. The first aim of this resreach is to connetct with domestic companies and construct the material and supply chains information. Except for post consumer wastes, the amount of post industial wastes exceeds 10000 ton/year, of which quality and cleaningness is much superior. The derived nano cellulose coatings, preparing via modulation of defibrillation process and surface polarity, showed superior barrier capability. In addition, through the matching of formulation and roll-to-roll precision coating process, the nano-cellulose coated papers were fabricated, of which the repulping yield being 85%. The developed cellulose coatings also passed the preliminary dissolution tests of food containers, indicative of the feasibility for packaging applications.
