To promote the proper waste paper tableware classification for recycling after meal and the effects of waste paper tableware recycling, EPA introduces “friendly paper tableware recycling store subsidy plan” in 2020. The audit was conducted according to the list of 710 stores provided by the EPA. As to the audit results, 290 stores are eligible for the subidy. There were 2 conferences and 2 news releases organized to invite stores joining the facility subsidy.
By means of voluntary registration and active guidance, the subjects eligible to the subsidy was increased to 310 stores. There were only 49 stores (15.7%) has set up recycling facilities and 261 stores were guided for subsidized facilities. Among them, 242 stores applied for the subsidy (including 236 stores applied for subsidized facilities, 6 stores purchased on their own) while 19 stores failed to apply for the subsidy. With review, the reasons for failure to apply included the plan for using environmental tableware alternatively, set up recycling facilities by themselves, no space for arrangement and refusal of interview etc.
The guidance of good example stores within 34 adminsitrative regions was completed. With survey, the reactions of both stores and public are good. Most recycling ojbects flow to individual operators, accounting for 55%. 93% public has done the classification and 9 individual operators were machted to assist on the paper tableware recycling. According to the statistics, the overall reclycing volume with guidance is increased to about 106.62kg/day, about 19% increase. Meanwhile, 21 stores use environmental tableware instead, which may reduce wastes about 40kg/day.
