Having been implemented for several years on EcoLife website, the project aims to maintain and upgrade its existing functions, including improving the website’s user-friendliness and making the data analysis applicable to the management of the website. In addition, educational training and workshops were held to raise people’s awareness of the dengue fever, sanitary public toilets and clean environment. It is hoped that the new environmental viewpoint that we live in a cleaner and greener homeland can be adopted step by step through these events.
Simultaneously, the project continued to maintain and improve the existing activities. In order to raise the public’s awareness on the self-monitoring clean environment, the residents were also encouraged to take part in the events. Moreover, the concept that it was everyone’s duty to maintain a clean environment could be spread and influence others’ awareness. People will work together to create a clean environment.
The achievements of this project are as follows. The number of participants in the educational training on the issue of hygiene environment and the EcoLife was 319. To increase the quality of environmental hygiene, the project of this year analyzed the hotspot of messy cigarette butts, dog poop and judged the place type and clustering reasons. In addition, we collected the improvement measure abroad and came up with suggestions for our country. In addition, a total of 217 people participated in the dog party. This event aims to call on people to implement "pick up dog's waste and put dogs on leash" while walking their dogs. Furthermore, the cigarette butts countermeasures forum invited the Environmental Protection Bureau, environmental non-governmental organization and student organizations to communicate about measures of solving cigarette butts pollution issue as reference for the follow-up policy and advocacy strategy.
In terms of the website, the changes involve the refinement of the revised website, the construction of the special area, the integration of the system-operation interface and the simplification of its functions. As for the public toilet, we continued to enhance the completeness of the backstage content management system and optimize the users’ interface. Not only did we build up the monitoring system of the clean public toilet, we also developed a reporting system. Regarding the information security, we checked the content and got rid of the problems to improve the network’s security. Other adjustments were provided for each cooperating sectors’ demands. The establishment and maintenance of the above-mentioned functions have successfully improved the system’s user-friendliness and the effectiveness of business management. These functions have also helped users to keep track of the currently environmental hygiene status.
