To encourage enterprises to promote environmental protection work, Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) Executive Yuan, R.O.C.(Taiwan) has handled the selection of Enterprises Environmental Protection Awards for 29 years. This year EPA hosted the Second National Enterprises Environmental Protection Awards (NEEPA) to select enterprises with excellent performance in promoting environmental protection. It is expected through the selection mechanism that enterprises were encouraged to continue to improve their environmental protection work, and other companies were encouraged to use the winners as a model to jointly fulfill their corporate social responsibility and improve environmental quality. This award is also the highest honor awarded to domestic enterprises for environmental performance.
The selection mechanism for this award focused on the disclosure and evaluation of the company’s environmental information. The selection focused on five major items: environmental policy and management, energy and resource conservation contribution, pollution prevention and reduction effectiveness, environmental participation and other environmental protection performances.
In 2020, a total of 55 companies won the awards, with 26 in the manufacturing group, and 29 in the non-manufacturing group. The EPA has published the Summary of the 2nd NEEPA Winners for Excellent Performance in Environmental Protection, which outlines the experiences of these organizations, allowing the winners to share their experiences in promoting environmental protection.
