This year’s project implementation results are summarized as follows:
1. Dealing with work related to climate change
(1) Following the goals and fields of sustainable development in Taiwan, the promotion aspects and contents of the National Environmental Protection Project, we have formulated and submitted the framework of the Chiayi City Low-Carbon Adaptation and Sustainable Development Committee ( Draft ), then held a committee meeting based on the content after verification to urge the city to adopt cross-bureau cooperation methods in low-carbon adaptation and sustainable work to promote and develop together.
(2). We have handled greenhouse gases controlled implementation of the program at two cross-bureau coordination meetings. Coordination meetings on the implementation plan of greenhouse gas control and the promotion method of the low-carbon adjustment committee respectively from 2018 to 2020 in Chiayi City were held to discuss how to improve the effectiveness of the implementation plan and the promotion of the committee.
(3). We have held government agencies greenhouse gas reduction briefings, respectively to promote efficient management of electricity, lamp elimination, the air conditioning and building energy-saving measures as the theme.
(4). We have completed the survey on the intensity of greenhouse gas inventory activities in administrative jurisdictions. After integration, it is estimated that the total greenhouse gas emissions of administrative jurisdictions in 2018 totaled 1,230,667.50 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) , and forestry carbon storage 6,261.19 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). Total energy sector accounted Municipality GHG emissions proportion of 95.38%, and carbon reduction can give priority to improving energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption, increasing the use of renewable energy, reducing dependence on traditional fuels, and gradually reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
(5). Integration this city’s 2018 total GHG emissions for the jurisdictions is 1,230,667.5 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2 e) , compared with year 2015 the total of 1,269,616.02 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2 e) , with reduction 3.07% , reducing emissions 38,948.53 metric tons, which advanced in line with the magnitude of greenhouse gas reduction target of the first period (2020 compared to the base year 2015-year reduction of 2%), continued to maintain the results of the next phase and the second phase of the vision goals .
2. Promotion of low-carbon sustainable homeland
(1) Four low-carbon and sustainable home training course was held in this year, with the total number of declared leading up to 156 people.
(2) We have built low-carbon communities billboard and facilities, then did the community promotion on facebook. This year we have helped Ding Zhuang Li to set up 'water water Ding Zhuang ecological education park, then promote "Ding Zhuang community to create a low-carbon outcomes", " Beetle Eco- guided tour". Our facebook promotion attracted 215 people to press like and comments, and the number of activities has reached up to 3,726 people.
(3) Helped two low-carbon communities to replace their billboard, to better show off the communities works and expound their low-carbon actions.
(4) We have tracked and coached a total of 28 communities above the counseling Bronze level. Two times of tracking work has been completed this year, to grasp every li’s low-carbon action’s situation.
(5) This year, in the Southern living area, the assessment has been done to 3 Bronze level communities to check the results of the work of community building, and get 100% maintenance rate .
(6) This year, for the communities which has not been involved for a low-carbon sustainable homeland, we total help 7 Li to obtain the qualified rating, 5 Li to achieve bronze level. We made the city carbon sustainable homeland participation rates increasing from 82% to 90%, bronze level rates increasing to 35%. We get the first place of bronze level rates among Taiwan main land.
(7).We have assisted communities to build low-carbon sustainable action items, increase green landscaping area about 523 square meters, carbon sequestration 893 kilos - carbon dioxide / year.
(8) To promote the green building community, we reform two implementation places respectively do the rooftop farms and green wall. After we done the alternation, they can increase green landscaping area by 121 square meters, carbon sequestration 392 Kilos - carbon dioxide / year .
(9) To promote green building cooling work of building facilities for green-based, it has led carbon reduction results with a total of 4 construction projects. The construction method adopts roof greening and three-dimensional greening. After completion, it is expected to improve greening area by 453 square meters, sequestration 227 kilograms - carbon dioxide / year.
(10) This year, we held two meetings with low-carbon and sustainable technical advice and assessment review group to handled in line with low-carbon sustainable homes certification review process, so as to assist in this city communities with above Bronze level, helped continuing to accumulate scores for bronze-level community action items, and improve the chances of future applications for silver-level review.
3. Promotion of the non-use of disposable tableware
In order to implement the waste reduction at the source and the spirit of energy saving and carbon reduction , the tableware rental service method ( one type ) was developed this year. and was promoted after the borrowing rules were implemented. There are 5 Lis and 2 units to apply this method, and the cumulative loan utensils 380 sets, 480 cups, with the estimated carbon reduction achievements to 7.6 kg.
4. Issuing press release and help the Internet community (FB) management
(1) A total of 5 press releases were issued this year, with topics covering low-carbon travel, low-carbon actions, green consumption, and low-carbon community promotion. Among all 5 issues, ‘Come Ding Zhuang Li to find rhinoceros beetle, get chance to win big awards’ get best effects and was published by United Daily News and Liberty Times News.
(2) This year we released 7 facebook promotion issues and average reach 2,417 person, total reach 17,199 person. Therefore, this is provide advocacy and promotion effect.
