The Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) is dedicated to water quality and water body quality protection including the maintenance, monitoring, and pollution prevention of water sources, rivers, and groundwater. The EPA facilitates preventive control measures for various types of industrial wastewater, livestock wastewater, business wastewater, and domestic wastewater, while working with local governments to promote resource recycling projects including the reuse of farm manure, and biogas residue, and biogas slurry. The EPA strives for safer drinking water, agricultural water, and household water to ensure that water resources in Taiwan are risk-free, reaching the ultimate goal of “enjoying Taiwan’s wonderful water.”
The foundation of the Plan is based on“important results of water pollution prevention.”Through various projects, such as“the filming of water quality protection results videos,”“printing brochures with information on water pollution prevention results,” “creating posts attached with promotional videos and public promotions, or topics relating to water quality protection designated by the agency,” and “producing water quality protection results marketing materials," the EPA represents the efforts they are putting into the creation of comprehensive and creative marketing approaches. The EPA improves the quality of rivers by enforcing the laws and regulations of the Water Pollution Control Act, domestic sewage treatment, recycling and reuse of animal manure, the reduction of heavy metal discharge from industrial wastewater, and the management of drinking water quality, helping agencies provide cutting-edge water-related environment developments, enhancing water quality protection results, increasing positive international publicity, and demonstrating the benefits of environmental education.
