The Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan commissioned the “General Waste Information Management System Upgrade Project" this year (2020). The Project is an extension of the "Three-year (2013-2015) Domestic Waste Resource Management Action Plan,” and its system was established in 2015. Following up on the results of the past five years, the Project will continue to promote the management of general waste declarations. Specific results from this year (2020) are:
Updating basic data and analyzing policy: Responding to the huge waste statistics from 2020 being changed to service reports, adjusted general waste statistical reports and established energy analysis charts to be provided for analysis and decision-making.
Counseling and Checking the Cleaning Fee and Fund Utilization: Counseled local governments in the handling of general waste disposal fee collection and fund use reporting in 2019, reviewed and analyzed the 2018 reporting situation, and summarized reporting results, feedback, and opinions.
Implementation of Metropolitan Area Periodic Fixed Point Waste Collection: Track and inventory the conditions of periodic waste collection and hauling from fixed point areas from 2019 to 2021 and evaluate their effectiveness.
Strengthen the Household Waste Management System: Added functionality to the subsidy program, including online collection, returns, and withdrawals, to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reviews. Completed functional optimization of form completion for 6 fund forms, ensured that the items from articles 24 to 26 of the Waste Disposal Act may be independently calculated. Established development specifications for a system platform program (web) and provided plans to commissioned companies to develop programs on their own on the system platform; Continued to integrate and update the website educating the public to use fewer single-use products and proposed a possible solution for enhancing web policy communication capabilities.
