The purpose of Taichung Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions Project is to realize greenhouse gas reduction for Taichung City. Currently the project has been ongoing for 10 months and we have completed the following works: 1. Follow up of the revision of national greenhouse gas act. 2. Complete the Legislation of Taichung City Greenhouse Gas Self-Management Regulation and held a meeting with regulated companies. We will continue to satisfy the need of EPB of Taichung city of finishing legislative procedure. Besides, we have finished the report of CCS technology in Taichung power plant, Taiwan Cement Helping plant and Formosa Petroleum Company Mailiao plant. 3. The verification regulation for low carbon community has been completed and published on the website of EPB. By July 31, We have received 7 applications, the initial reviewing process are currently undertaken. 4. The subsidy plan for green buildings has been legislated. We have uploaded related documents to EPB website and will continue promoting the subsidy plan. 5. We have renewed the contract with Taichung EPB on May 17, 2021. Instead of legislating procedures for Micro-Offset Projects, we will collect and analyze possible paths of net-zero emission for Taichung city. Currently we have collected data of net-zero related legislation and targets. We plan to come up with a report of 2050 net zero paths for Taichung city by the end of the project.
